'Spotlight' Offay Youth Theatre
Birr Theatre & Arts Centre
13th April 2014 at 3:00 pm
Sunday 13 April at 3pm in Birr Theatre and Arts Centre is the place to be when amazing young talent from all corners of Offaly will be showcased with Offaly Youth Theatre presenting “Spotlight” – it’s annual showcase of members’ unique and diverse talents.
The culmination of another successful year for this group sees 30 members from Birr, Tullamore and Edenderry taking to the stage after attending a series of weekly workshops. Offaly Youth Theatre advocates the inherent value and the unique relationship between young people and theatre and is committed to extending and enhancing their understanding of this by raising artistic standards across the county.
This project is facilitated by committed local theatre professionals Macdara Deery, Brendan Fox, Martina McCormack and Angela Ryan Whyte, who have many years experience in all aspects of theatre development from acting to directing to developing theatre with young people. The project is also managed by a voluntary board, chaired by Cllr. Molly Buckley.
Offaly Youth Theatre is supported by Offaly County Council, the Arts Council of Ireland, Birr Theatre & Arts Centre and Laois Offaly Education Training Board and is a proud member of the National Association for Youth Drama.
New members are always welcome (fees are nominal) and should contact (089) 4590138 or firstname.lastname@example.org
